ACS Globe WHV Light is a health and assistance insurance policy specifically designed for travellers holding a Working Holiday visa (WHV) who are looking for essential, minimal cover.
It includes only the core guarantees: medical expenses, hospitalisation, medical repatriation and personal liability insurance.
This plan is valid for all Working Holiday destinations, with the exception of Canadian IEC visa holders, for whom we recommend our standard solution Globe WHV.
Both Globe WHV Light and Globe WHV are designed for Working Holiday travellers, but they meet different needs and offer different levels of cover.
Please note: Globe WHV Light is not valid for a Working Holiday stay in Canada. It is suitable for other Working Holiday destinations, for travellers looking for insurance that meets visa requirements, with a controlled budget and no additional guarantees.

In most countries offering a Working Holiday visa, taking out health and repatriation insurance is mandatory. It may be required at the visa application stage or checked upon arrival by local authorities.
Even when it is not formally required, having suitable insurance is strongly recommended. Medical costs abroad can quickly become very expensive. Working Holiday insurance protects you financially and provides access to assistance in case of unexpected events.
Globe WHV Light insurance is valid in all countries that have signed a Working Holiday agreement, such as Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Ecuador or Uruguay.
Important: this plan is not available for Canadian IEC visa holders. For Canada, we recommend the comprehensive solution Globe WHV.
You must take out your insurance before departure. You can do so at any time, from the moment you start your visa application process, if insurance is required.
Subscription is completed entirely online in just a few minutes, and you can choose a provisional start date, which can be modified free of charge if necessary.
Cover starts only on the selected date, subject to payment of the premium.
No, the insurance premium must be paid in full at the time of subscription for the selected duration.
In case of inspection, you must present your insurance certificate. This document is sent to you by email after your subscription has been validated. It includes your personal details, the duration of your policy and your membership number.
We recommend keeping this certificate with you, either in paper or digital format, and sharing a copy with a trusted person.
Your insurance should ideally cover the full planned duration of your stay.
In some countries, the duration of your insurance may even determine the validity period of your Working Holiday visa. Insufficient cover may result in a shorter visa being issued.
To avoid any complications, it is strongly recommended to take out insurance covering the entire duration of your project.
In the event of hospitalisation (at least one overnight stay), direct payment of medical expenses may be arranged after contacting the assistance platform, available 24/7.
For other medical treatment, expenses are paid upfront by the insured and the reimbursement claim must then be submitted to ACS through a simple and secure process.
Yes. You are free to choose the doctor or healthcare facility you wish.
If needed, the assistance service can also guide you towards a healthcare professional suited to your situation.
The insurance includes the essential guarantees:
As with any insurance policy, certain limits and exclusions apply. We recommend consulting the policy terms and conditions for full details of coverage.
If you extend your stay under a Working Holiday visa, it may be possible to take out a new policy immediately following the previous one.
To do so, you must contact customer service before your policy expires, in order to check subscription conditions and avoid any gap in cover.
No, refunds are not available under the Globe WHV Light insurance policy.
Many recreational sports are covered; however, certain high-risk or competitive activities are excluded (aerial sports, combat sports, off-piste skiing, mountaineering, etc.).
The detailed list is provided in the policy terms and conditions.
Globe WHV Light insurance covers only medical expenses resulting from an accident occurring during employment or an internship, within the limits set out in the policy.
Medical expenses resulting from a road traffic accident may be covered, subject to the terms and conditions of the policy.
However, Globe WHV Light does not replace mandatory vehicle insurance and does not include motor liability insurance.
The insurance is available to anyone eligible for a Working Holiday visa, regardless of nationality, excluding Canadian IEC visa holders.
If you are unsure about your situation, our team is available to assist you and guide you towards the most suitable solution.
No. Globe WHV Light insurance covers only your stay in the destination country specified in your Working Holiday policy.
